Introduction and Development of Cricket in Nepal

INTRODUCTION
Cricket was begun to play in Nepal during the rule of Ranas, but at that time Ranas were only allowed to play cricket . Due to the slow and steady growth of cricket craze in Nepal , Cricket governing body CAN ( Cricket Association of Nepal) was established in1946 , which is also known as the oldest sports organization of Nepal. After the Rana's were expelled from the kingdom , Cricket craze was growing rapidly in Nepal , especially in Terai Belt of Nepal. A team of Nepal also visited to India to have friendly cricket match over there.

DEVELOPMENT OF CRICKET
Cricket was developing in Nepal steadily , and by seeing this much of craze of cricket in Nepal , ICC decided to handover the $50 Lakh to Nepal in 1992 for the construction of Cricket academies and Cricket Stadium . But due to the irresponsibility of CAN , ICC took back it's agreement because CAN couldn't found any construction spot in Nepal upto 4 years. This decision made a a trrrible effect in the development of cricket in Nepal, and after that the construction of cricket academies and cricket stadium was like a dream for the Nepali Cricket lovers . There are not any cricket stadiums in Nepal , TU cricket ground has been the cricketing spot for National and International Cricket Matches. . Although , there are not any cricketing facilities in Nepal , more than 20000 cricket lovers of Nepal come to cricket ground to enjoy the cricket matches of Nepal , which made Nepal the only country to have most number of cricket lovers in the world among affiliate countries.
Their is only one recognized cricket academy in Nepal named Shangrila cricket academy. Almost all the players of national team are self made players , they are not trained professionaly because their is not enough cricket training centers in Nepal but also Nepali Cricket team is ranked 27 in the world among all the cricket nations.
